The Armidale School Rugby Carnival 2027

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2027

We are excited to welcome junior rugby clubs and schools  to The Armidale School Rugby Carnival (TASRC) 2027, to be held over the weekend of 10-11 April. As one of regional Australia's premier grassroots junior rugby events, TASRC brings together players, families, schools and clubs for a weekend of participation, sportsmanship, connection and community. In 2027, we are pleased to welcome both returning teams and new participants, with a particular focus on encouraging regional clubs to experience all that TASRC has to offer.

Rugby Experience

All teams are guaranteed multiple matches across the carnival weekend, with teams playing up to six games across Saturday and Sunday. TASRC aims to provide a positive and enjoyable rugby experience for all participants, combining quality competition with a strong focus on participation, player development and sportsmanship. Teams will have the opportunity to play against a diverse range of school and club opponents from across Australia, creating valuable playing and development opportunities not typically available during the regular season.

TASRC is pleased to have the support of NSW Rugby, who will provide additional player development opportunities for Under 10 participants throughout the carnival weekend

Further information regarding draws, match durations and playing formats will be provided prior to team registrations opening in October 2026.

Updates and Changes for TASRC 2027

For returning teams, please note the following changes for TASRC 2027

Off-Site package: minor price increase

Package name changes

All teams will complete team registration and event insurance requirements through Rugby Xplorer

Under 10s: Schools and clubs may register up to two (2) teams (previously limited to one (1) team)

Under 14s and Under 16s Girls 7s: Teams may register up to 13 players per team (previously 12)

Player Ages

The following players are eligible to participate in TASRC 2027 without requiring dispensation. Teams wishing to register players born outside the eligible birth years listed below must obtain an approved Rugby Australia dispensation. Further information regarding the dispensation process will be provided when registrations open.

Team Deposit ($500 per confirmed team): Due Friday 4 December 2026

Player & Staff Registration: Open Friday 12 February 2027; Close Friday 12 March 2027

Final Team Invoice: Due Friday 2 April 2027

Team Check-in and Accommodation Access: From 2.00pm Friday 9 April 2027

Games Begin: 8.00am Saturday 10 April 2027

Teams that secure their own off-site accommodation will have their place in TASRC 2027 confirmed, subject to completing registration requirements and payment deadlines.

TASRC 2027 Team Packages

Teams may nominate their preferred package option when registering for TASRC 2027. Wherever possible, TASRC will accommodate teams from the same school or club at one venue to support ease of management for supervising staff- subject to team size and gender requirements.

Accommodation at TAS and PLC Armidale is limited. Package requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.  

Regional junior rugby clubs will be given priority when allocating on-site accommodation.  

Final package allocations will be confirmed in consultation with participating schools and clubs once registration numbers are finalised.

Additional staff above allocated numbers may be required to arrange their own accommodation.  

Package pricing is charged per person and applies to all players, coaches and team management staff.

All teams staying on site at TAS & PLC must have a minimum of two supervising adults with their players.

TAS Boarding House Package – $400.00

Accommodation: 2 nights (Beds or Mattresses in TAS Boarding Houses)  

Meals: Friday & Saturday dinner, Saturday & Sunday breakfast in TAS Dining Hall

PLC Boarding House Package (U14-U16 teams only) – $400.00

Accommodation: 2 nights (Beds in PLC Boarding Houses)  

Meals: Friday & Saturday dinner, Saturday & Sunday breakfast at PLC Dining Room

TAS Campus Package – $350.00

Accommodation: 2 nights (Mattresses in TAS Sports Centre / classrooms / common areas) Shared amenities

Meals: Friday & Saturday dinner, Saturday & Sunday breakfast in TAS Dining Hall

Off-Site Package – $260.00

Accommodation: Not included

Meals: Not included

All prices are per person (inc. GST)

Registration Costs

A non-refundable deposit of $500 per confirmed team is required by Friday 4 December 2026.

Due to fixed event costs, refunds or discounts cannot be provided for registered players who do not attend. Please ensure all players and families are aware of this before registering.
